Build and change music in Sprunki

When you play Sprunki, you build a looping track by placing characters into empty slots.

You begin by dragging characters into place and listening as the sounds start to match or clash. Most players start with 2-3 characters. As you add more, mixes usually feel crowded at around 4-5.

Each character immediately adds one sound to the mix. You can remove or replace any character at any time, and the music updates instantly.

Sprunki gives you 20 characters across 4 sound types. Here are the different types of sounds in Sprunki and the characters that make them.

Swapping just 1 character out of a 4-character mix is often enough to change the entire mood of the track. Sometimes a mix suddenly clicks, and you stop changing things just to let it play.

Tools to help you experiment

Sprunki has 2 basic features:

• Restart button: You can remove all Sprunkis that you placed by pressing the restart button in the top right of the game
• Gallery: Here, you can view some art from the creator of the game showing how they created some of the characters

There are also 3 character-specific features as well. These are found by hovering the mouse over a Sprunk that is making music:

• Mute: You can individually mute one or more characters
• Focus: Pressing this will pause all other characters so you only hear the one you are focusing on
• Remove: The X removes the character from play

Sprunki is built around mixing characters and listening to how their sounds interact.

Certain characters work well together, like Pinki and Jevin, because they cover different parts of the sound.

Once you've built a few mixes, you start noticing certain characters work better together. Here are 5 combinations players often return to for different moods.

Simon, Mr. Fun Computer and Tunner

This combination creates a melody-led loop. Simon and Tunner shape the tune, while Mr. Fun Computer adds personality. Removing the vocal makes changes immediately noticeable.

Oren, Mr. Sun and Wenda

This mix creates a clean and balanced loop. Oren provides a steady rhythm, Mr. Sun adds a clear melody, and Wenda's vocals sit neatly on top.

Clukr, Durple, Jevin and Sky

Here, the track starts to feel fuller, with more sounds happening at once. Clukr holds the rhythm, Durple adds a layered melody, Jevin brings openness through vocals and Sky fills the background with subtle effects.

Raddy, Mr. Tree and Gray

This combination tends to feel heavier and more serious. Raddy's beat keeps things grounded, Mr. Tree's melody lowers the tone, and Gray adds rough texture.

Vineria, Tunner, Jevin and brud

This mix creates a full, layered loop. Vineria adds rhythmic texture, while Tunner brings melody. Jevin's vocals deepen the sound and brud increases complexity in the background.

Sprunki's Black Hat and Horror Mode

The mysterious 20th character in Sprunki is the Black Hat. Placing it into the track changes the game immediately to Sprunki's Horror Mode.

In this mode, familiar sounds are altered. All characters take on a darker, heavier tone that changes the mood of the whole track.

Once Horror Mode is active, players often return to combinations they created earlier to hear how they sound now. Everything feels less playful and more tense. Even familiar mixes feel different.

Who created Sprunki?

Sprunki is a fan-made music game inspired by Incredibox, built around character-based sound mixing. It began appearing online in 2023, spreading through community platforms and player-shared videos.

While not an official Incredibox release, Sprunki became popular by adding new characters and sounds that players hadn't heard before.
